1.) JESUS FOUNDED HIS CHURCH ON PETER AND APPOINTED HIM AS HEAD OF HIS CHURCH ON EARTH. JESUS GAVE PETER THE KEYS (AUTHORITIES) WHO TO ACCEPT OR NOT IN THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN.
[Matthew 16:18-19] “And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
[John 21:15-17] When they had finished eating, Jesus asked Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love Me more than these?” “Yes, Lord,” he answered, “You know I love You.” Jesus replied, “Feed My lambs. 2.) PETER APPOINTED IGNATIUS AS OVERSEER OR BISHOP OF ANTIOCH. IGNATIUS WAS ALSO ONE OF THE DISCIPLES OF JOHN THE BELOVED ALONG WITH HIS FRIEND (POLYCARP)

3.) SAINT IGNATIUS CALLED THE EARLY CHRISTIAN CHURCH AS “CATHOLIC CHURCH”
